A successful switch is about keeping guests and the team on a clear path. Plan the change while the current ordering channel is still available. The checklist reduces avoidable disruption; it is not a guarantee of uninterrupted service.
Before the preview
- Keep an authorized copy of the current menu, prices, modifier rules and images you may reuse.
- List service hours, pickup instructions, delivery areas and order restrictions.
- Record every ordering link: website, business profiles, social profiles, QR materials and campaigns.
- Identify who controls the domain, website and payment-provider account.
- Review any customer-data export and consent requirements before moving records.
Before you publish
- Review the menu item by item, including required choices, limits and prices.
- Test representative orders on a phone and a larger screen.
- Verify supported payments, confirmation, refunds and exceptions using the agreed test process.
- Walk an accepted order through kitchen preparation and pickup or delivery handoff.
- Confirm support contacts and train the staff who will run the first shift.
At cutover
- Choose a quieter service window and agree who can pause the change.
- Publish the reviewed menu and update the controlled ordering links.
- Check the link from a guest's phone, including any redirects and QR codes.
- Monitor incoming orders and the first handoffs with the team.
- Keep the previous link and operating fallback available until the new process is accepted.
After the first shifts
Review missing choices, guest questions, cancelled orders and support requests. Correct the menu and instructions before promoting the new link more widely. Cancel the previous service only after its open orders, data needs and agreement have been addressed.
